Transferring a Premises Licence

If you’re taking over an existing licensed business or are leaving a business where you are a premises licence holder, you can apply to have the relevant licence transferred from or to another person.

This kind of transfer commonly occurs between people buying and selling businesses. It will also be necessary when an existing licence holder has died, become incapacitated or insolvent. Either way the application must be made within 28 days of the event that has caused the need for a transfer.
