When will Camden expand the LNL?

Having undertaken a consultation and full council approval being granted in March , the question is when will Camden implement its amended late night levy.

Although the fees remain the same the levy amendments mean that late‑night refreshment venues trading between midnight and 6am will now be required to pay the levy, bringing them into scope alongside alcohol‑licensed premises.

The council said “the change is intended to ensure a more consistent contribution from businesses benefiting from the late‑night economy.”

This levy has been in place since 2016 and the expansion indicates it is here to stay. In view of questions being raised as to where the money from levy is spent the council has stated it is committed to improving transparency and reporting around how levy funds are used.
