Scotland - Consultation on fee for renewal of personal licence.

2018

The Scottish Government have now published a consultation on the issue of the renewal fee for Personal licence holders.

Those who were granted their personal licences in September 2009, as part of the first wave, are now approaching their 10th anniversary and therefore will be required to ‘renew’ their personal licences.

The final details of the process, including what qualifications will be required and whether this will satisfy the 5 yearly refresher requirement, are yet to be clarified by the Government despite calls from industry leaders to do so.

With time running short for the many thousands of personal licence holders who will be affected by the anniversary.

The consultation proposes a £50 fee (this mirrors the new licence fee) and invites responses to the consultation no later than Wednesday 15th August 2018.
