London is expecting huge crowds looking to pay their respects to the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the London authorities are encouraging hospitality businesses to remain open.

In recent days, hospitality businesses (such as Centre Parcs) have elected to reverse decisions to close sites during the Queen's Funeral. Pubs, restaurants and shops in the City, face a delicate balancing act of wanting to pay their respects to the late Queen and a wish to provide a service to those expected to attend the funeral’s surrounding area.

After receiving requests for guidance on the issue, the Greater London Authority has advised,

“It would be helpful if hospitality businesses in London, particularly in our city’s centre, could be ready to open their doors to the guests arriving over the coming days and on the day of Her Majesty’s funeral”

According to sector leaders, it is believed that the majority of establishments in the centre of London are planning to open at least part of the time on Monday to cater for the crowds that are expected to fill the Capital.
