Gaming Machine Enforcement Visits

17 Dec
2024

It is being reported that Licensing Enforcement Officers in certain areas are working closely with HMRC compliance Officers and the Gambling Commission to ensure compliance around Gaming Machine Duty and the required Permits/Notifications being in place.

The particular area is Sandwell in the West Midlands where, it is reported, 26 Alcohol licensed premises have been “brought into compliance”.

It is of the utmost importance that the correct permit/notification is in place for alcohol-licensed premises to have gaming machines at these types of premises (the types of machines and stakes and prizes are restricted and regulated), and equally important to ensure the correct Gaming Machine Duty is paid.
