The Responsible Gambling Strategy Board (RGSB) has published its National Gambling Strategy for 2016-17 and 2018-19. This follows a public consultation earlier this year.
The RGSB state in the introduction to the strategy document as follows;
“This document sets out the strategy which the Responsible Gambling Strategy Board proposes for the three years 2016-17 to 2018-19 to encourage responsibility in gambling, to reduce or mitigate gambling-related harm, and to increase the protection of the vulnerable”.
The document also details the strategy objectives stating as follows:
- To develop more effective harm minimisation interventions, in particular through further experimentation and piloting of different approaches.
- To improve treatment through better use of knowledge, data and evaluation.
- To build a culture where new initiatives are routinely evaluated and findings put into practice.
- To encourage a wider range of organisations in the public and private sector to accept their responsibility to tackle gambling-related harm.
- To progress towards a better understanding of gambling-related harm and its measurement.”
The final document can be found here: "The National Responsible Gambling Strategy 2016-17 to 2018-19".
