The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 2020 have now been published and enact further relaxations of the ‘lockdown’.

As well as the creation of the ‘linked household bubbles and the reopening of churches for private payer by individuals, the relaxations, commencing on Monday 15th June 2020, will include the reopening of:

  • shops to open (including betting shops, but not Amusement Arcades (which are classed as leisure, not retail units).
  • retail galleries, where the majority of the art on display is for sale,
  • drive-in cinemas,
  • auction houses,
  • shops at attractions such as botanical gardens, heritage sites and landmarks such as observation wheels, and
  • outdoor areas of zoos, safari parks, aquariums and outdoor visitor attractions at farms or other animal attractions (indoor attractions remain closed).
