Northampton council latest to reject an EMRO

Yesterday the Northampton Licensing Committee decided not to proceed with an EMRO at this time.

The police had requested consideration of an EMRO and there followed an informal consultation which ran from 28 February until 5 April 2013.  Had the Committee decided otherwise, they would have had to launch a full and formal consultation.  Clearly this will not now happen.

This follows on from the rejection by Hartlepool of the adoption of an EMRO. West Lancashire has recently concluded an informal consultation in respect of Ormskirk, the outcome of which is awaited.

Blackpool have of course recently launched a formal consultation which runs until 25 July 2013.

Chesterfield Borough Council is due to launch a formal consultation shortly.
