Locally set licence fees - urgent update and call to 'arms'

25 Feb
2014

On 13 February we reported on the launch of the Government’s consultation on locally fixed licence fees).

The proposals – if implemented – will have a significant costs implications for all businesses.

The Home Office is arranging a number of roadshows to explain the proposals and obtain feedback.  It is very important that the industry voice is heard but by all accounts it is currently very under-represented.

The proposed venues and dates are below:

  • Manchester Town Hall, 4 March, PM
  • Bristol City Hall, 12 March, PM
  • York Racecourse, 18 March, PM
  • London Local Government House Smith Square London SW1P 3HZ - 25 March 11am-2pm

We strenuously urge operators to send a representative to one or more of these meetings.

To register your interest, you should email alcoholstrategy@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.

The full consultation is available at: www.gov.uk/government/consultations/locally-set-licensing-fees . The closing date for responses is 10 April 2014.

Law correct at the date of publication.
