Gambling - Fixed Odds Betting Terminal (FOBT) motion rejected in House of Commons

Last night, Labour's motion in the House of Commons calling for Councils to be given power to limit the number of category B2 Gaming Machines was rejected by 314 votes to 232.

The Government has announced that further measures to protect gamblers will be revealed later this year with David Cameron telling MPs "This is a problem, it does need looking at, we have a review under way."

This latest motion follows the recent failed attempt by Labour to cut the stake limit on the machines from £100 to £2.
