DCMS - Live Music Act Guidance

04 Mar
2013

Last week, the DCMS has recently published a useful summary of the legal status of live music following the introduction of the Live Music Act 2012.  This activity has now been  deregulated in a range of circumstances from which the majority of licensed premises may benefit.

The Home Office's latest revised guidance, published in October 2012 pursuant to s. 182 of the Licensing Act, included commentary on the effects of the Live Music Act.

Although it is unclear why the DCMS has chosen to publish this advice now, or in light of the revised s.182 guidance, it is nonetheless a helpful summary for easy reference.

You may view the DCMS' summary here.

Law correct at the date of publication.
