Child Performers Guidance

The Department for Education has issued a guidance note to Local Authorities and individuals working with children in which it sets out the Child Performance Licensing and Activities Legislation which apply to those responsible for putting on professional or amateur performances involving children, people who engage children in paid sport or paid modelling, parents and carers of the children and Local Authorities.

 

The guidance supplements the Children (Performance and Activities) (England) Regulations 2014, a copy of the guidance can be found here and covers the requirement to obtain a Licence on behalf of the child, the requirement for the child to still have the benefit of education, the role of chaperones and travel arrangements amongst other matters, particularly the hours the child can be engaged in performing.
