Bristol City Council pavement licences

It is being reported that Bristol City Council will change its pavement licence policy to potentially permit premises to trade outdoor seating areas to match their opening hours, opening up the possibility of such areas being authorised for late night premises well beyond the Council’s current policy hours of 23:00 daily.

An online petition/campaign - ‘Save Our Seats’- sought to change the Council’s policy hours and ran from 19^th April 2023 to 6^th June 2023. Having now closed, it obtained in excess of 5,800 signatures.

The move will undoubtedly be very welcome for local hospitality businesses if it does happen.
